Established in Jesus

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

The Bible sets a priority on maturing to become consistent in our walk in the LORD,

…until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 1

There was a time when we were influenced by whatever seemed either most interesting, most popular or most pressing, but that led to an unstable lifestyle in the LORD for we were trying to live in Jesus but by the ways of our old life. Now, as we mature in the LORD, we are to be being established in the LORD’s ways,

It is the LORD who has the ability to ‘establish our hearts blameless in holiness’ in conformity with who He is such that we are prepared for both His presence for Eternity and for life in the midst of this world as His living representatives accurately demonstrating ‘Christ in you, the hope of glory.’ 3
