Our blogs are intended to engage you in knowing God Above All. The truth about God is not as much found as recognized. A few years ago there was a slogan used by a religious movement that became a popular bumper sticker: “I FOUND IT”. While it made a catchy slogan, it was somewhat inaccurate as the “found” element was something that could only be “revealed” by the original Author Himself. We have a presumption that we “discover” God rather than “recognize” the Truth He places before us.
Truth must be consistent, universal, definable and several other elements discussed in other blogs and if these elements are true of themselves, they exist beyond our recognizing them. They are determinate and not situational.
The perplexity we face is whether we use our senses to Reason out what is true—philosophically—or we recognize what is Revelation—empirically—as transcending our finite senses. Is Truth beyond what we create for ourselves through what we accept and believe? Are we as wise, smart, informed, perceptive, impartial or as denotative as we like to think we are?
So, this is not a Quest of Discovery but rather a Quest to Recognize, to set aside our prejudices, traditions and presumptions long enough to consider God Truth beyond our personal experience and see if our view of God measures up enough to entrust our lives to living in that Truth.
